Yumbox Bento Lunch

I’m always on the lookout for brilliant things that make my life easier as a mom. With two toddlers, I need all the help I can get!

The Yumbox bento lunch box is, hands down, one of my favorite children’s product purchases that I have ever made.

Here are some Yumbox lunches I have packed for my preschooler:

BentoCollage

It took me 5 minutes or less to pack the meals above. The illustrated tray insert makes it fun and easy to pack a nutritious lunch, fast.

Mom Approved Features:

  • BPA free
  • Food safe material
  • Dishwasher safe (I put the insert on the top dish rack and hand wash the outer box to preserve the seal)
  • Leak-proof for food like yogurt and applesauce (food with water-like consistency is not leakproof)
  • Kid friendly open/close latch

I love all the cheerful colors the Yumbox comes in:

It sounds crazy, but I actually look forward to packing lunch as a creative and fun activity now. I used to view it as a dreaded chore. My little one loves to help too.

My preschooler is a picky eater and I’ve found more success when I send a variety of food in a bento style layout. She also likes that the food stays separated.

Sometimes, we use it as a cheese/cracker snack tray on outings! It’s so useful if your kid is a grazing type of eater, like mine.

Growing up in an Asian household, there was always a rich earthy homemade broth available to drink at any time- usually straight from a crockpot. When I was younger, I avoided looking at this simmering soup- there were all kinds of unsightly things in there: chicken feet, whole birds, large...
